Event Description

The NDIS is the biggest systemic and sector change since the implementation of Medicare and other welfare systems, and yet the myths and conversations that surround it can seem to overtake the facts and reality of what is happening on the ground. The NDIS is here to not only stay, but grow, and will be a huge opportunity for social workers, but also all our responsibilities to get onboard and play our part.

Support Coordination is the new complex case management and involves core and key social work values, tasks and approaches but is often misunderstood and under valued. Social workers have a key role to play in this space as the work involves working with those most vulnerable and experiencing complexities and systemic challenges. How do we attract social workers into this space and at the same time ensuring our new grads have an understanding of the NDIS and their role to play in that, even when not working within it?

This webinar was presented by the AASW North Queensland Branch.
