EMDR is a therapy designed to assist those suffering trauma and has been endorsed by the World Health Organisation as an effective treatment for children and adults.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing, a reference to the technique that incorporates eye movements to activate processing of traumatic memories.
First developed more than 25 years ago for use in single incident trauma, EMDR therapy is now successfully used around the world to help people from diverse cultures, and in a variety of circumstances, recover from the effects of trauma.
