Theory and Skill into Practice: 80 Social Work Skills for Practice – Translating 'knowing what' into 'knowing how', presented by Dr Pamela Trevithick, is designed to assist participants in translating theory into practice.
It is a very practical course that introduces a Practice Framework designed to integrate knowledge and skills and how we translate ‘knowing what’ into ‘knowing how’.
The course covers 80 key skills and interventions including communication, organisation and hands-on skills training.
Presenter
Dr Pamela Trevithick is the Visiting Professor in Social Work at Buckinghamshire New University and a former Program Director for the BSc in Social Work at the University of Gloucestershire. She is the author of the best-selling text ‘Social Work Skills and Knowledge’: A Practice Handbook (2012), which is a recommended text on most UK social work programs and is sold widely in Australia.
