Event Description

This event for Reconciliation Week 2022 showcases some of the excellent work taking place in Aboriginal communities in regional South Australia. Presenters Nicole Linsell, Emily Ware and Jaylene Ware discuss the work Centacare Country SA is doing with Reconciliation Action Working Group. This conversation is similar to many yarning circles that enable us to share knowledge, experiences and to enable questions to flow.

Presenters

Nicole Linsell is a non-Aboriginal woman living on Bungarla Country and am a Social Worker employed as Manager of the Port Lincoln and Lower Eyre Peninsula Office based in Port Lincoln.

Emily Ware is a Wiringu & Kokatha woman who lives and works in Ceduna. She is employed in our Family Based Foster Care team including the recruitment, assessment and ongoing support of foster carers. This support includes ensuring that carers have the skills, tools and training to support the children they care for in a trauma responsive manner.

Jaylene Ware is a Wiringu, Kokatha and Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjajara woman who also lives and works in Ceduna. Jaylene is employed in our Homelessness program working with some of our most vulnerable members of the Ceduna and surrounding community.
